Samoa Cultural Night

After visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center in Oahu, we decided that we wanted to learn more about the countries featured there. We started with Samoa.
Food: Alasia fa'apopo (coconut rice) with chicken, Fa'apapa (coconut bread), Suafa'i (banana soup) http://www.samoafood.com/p/recipes.html

Weather or Landscape: Tropical paradise, ahhh....
Animals: Google search of the animals that live there
Language: This was a fun site that we could listen to greeting and animal names and then play a matching game to test ourselves. http://www.digitaldialects.com/Samoan.htm
Architecture: We recognized the chief shelters made with coconut leaf roofs. There is a recreation of such a structure at the PCC.

Cultural Exploration: We watched a movie that we were given at the PCC to learn more about the Samoan culture, the fire twirling, the reliance and usage of every part of the coconut
Art: Tapa cloth and tribal art and tatoos
